The Lorenzo's Oil .

The news about it came out in StarTwo today . Blehh .

"It was my fault . I screwed up after all these years because I didn't call the ambulans earlier on," said Lorenzo's father , his voice breaking , sobbing with tears . I was intrigued by the article itself , the love that flows through Lorenzo and his parents .

Lorenzo was diagnosed with a neurological disease and the doctors predicted that he would die within the next two years . In that time , Lorenzo's mum read to him stories . One day , Lorenzo looked at his mum .

"Can you please speak louder ? I can't hear you ."

Over the next few years , Lorenzo's parents studied over 200 articles on the neurological disease and created a mixture of oils and acids to help their son . The medication was said to be able to stop the spreading of the disease temporarily .

In the course of years , Lorenzo's parents cleaned him , bathe him , read stories to him , and cared for him whether or not he was awake . Yes , Lorenzo was in a coma . In year 2000 , Lorenzo's mum passed away , and left his dad to care for him .

Lorenzo's father cared for him and loved him so unconditionally . He saw past what limits his son had , looked past all his flaws . He was so passionate about Lorenzo , and cared for him , like he was real and alive .

Until recently , Lorenzo passed away .

He never woke up .

How would that feel ? Caring for a person for a quarter of a century to know that he left before you did , and all your effort and time and money you put in , gone in an instant . Before you know it , you've wasted so much time and you dont have any left for yourself , and maybe , you'd die a broken man .

But his efforts weren't a waste of time , and the money were just papers . There was nothing that could replace the love Lorenzo's father had felt caring for Lorenzo , whether or not his son moved or woke up . Maybe that's it .

We choose to sarifice so much for the person we love , whether or not they can move , or talk , or even look . Because that's what life is about anyway .

We live . We laugh . We love .

And sometimes , that's just the way life is .
