I can't think , can't seem to keep my fingers running over the pads of the keyboard . I hear the piano playing in the other room . I hear music , sweet and distracting . I hear the gentle flipping of a magazine , one page after another . I hear the wind that whip past my ears , the silent drone of the fan . I hear so many things . But I can't hear myelf .

I can't hear my heart beating . I can't hear my blood pulsating . I can't hear anything of me , anything that is me . I can hear everyone else . Everyone's thoughts , dreams , fears , loves , heartaches , jealously , outrage . Why ? I'm not that sure .

But when I place my fingers on my chest , I feel the reassuring thumps against my hands . When I stop moving for a while , I can hear my pulse . But I need silence . One that would gladly engulf me in it , but not entirely . I want laughter , and happiness , and fun . I want good things , great things , things that make someone feel perfect .

I'm aiming for the sky , for the unending blue and fluffly white clouds . I'm aiming for the sea , the fold of green and rich sea blue . I'm aiming for the fields , the neverending green , and a whole row of colourful flowers . I'm aiming for the rainbow , the gold at the end of it . I'm aiming for everything I cannot have .
